Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan Review

If you have seen the front cover for Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan, then you probably got the same impression that this would be some kid friendly show. However, first ep in and you will realize this is some comedy about how much adulthood sucks.

Summary

Being an adult is hard. For 31-year-old Uramichi Omota, that depressing truth weighs on him. While on TV, he’s an upbeat exercise instructor for a children’s show, but sometimes he can’t keep his sardonic comments to himself. Even his coworkers, a pair of mascots and a singing duo, keep revealing the plight of adulthood on air. Regardless, they’re working through it one a day at a time.

I truly enjoyed and laughed at each episode of this series. I think it’s probably because I can relate to Uramichi, and the things he says are so unexpected. I mean, did you expect a guy working with kids to spill out those words about the sad life of adulthood? One of my favorite moments are his interactions with his colleagues, and that strange mascot he drew that became the face of the tv program. If that isn’t enough reason for you to check it out, then you should for their voice actor casts: Hiroshi Kamiya, Mamoru Miyano, Ryouhei Kimura, and much more!
